Executive Director— Dee has worked in the senior living arena for more than 20 years. Originally from Ohio where she attended Ohio-Miami University in Hamilton, she moved to Florida in 1979. She is heavily involved on many committees, including the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Most recently, she was elected as treasurer of the Florida Assisted Living Association. Dee is extremely passionate about her work in senior care and a big proponent of the Veterans Aid and Attendance Program.
Director of Life Enrichment— With 10 years of experience in healthcare, Jamie has a passion for providing a loving and caring environment for the residents at RiverView Senior Resort. She became a certified nursing assistant in 2009 and then went on to attend the University of South Florida where she received Assisted Living Core Administrator training. Jamie also received her CDP certification through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. She wholeheartedly enjoys what she does and loves putting smiles on the faces of the RiverView residents.
Kadene Hewitt Evans
Director of Human Resources— Kadene is extremely passionate about her work in Human Resources at RiverView. Originally from Jamaica, she attended Knox Community College where she received her Associates in Business Studies and Northern Caribbean University where she received her Bachelors in Management Studies. After moving to the United States, she attended Walden University where she went on to receive her Masters in Health Care Management. In 2019, Kadene was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success. She is very family-oriented and loves spending time with her beautiful 10-year-old daughter in her free time.
Gina Mendez Santos
Business Office Manager— Gina worked as a paralegal for 16 years where she specialized in family law, commercial litigation and tax law before shifting career paths four years ago and becoming an accountant. She received her Bachelor’s in Accounting from Keiser University and her Master’s in Business from Everest University. Gina is passionate about her work in the assisted living field because she has a deeply personal connection to Alzheimer’s.
Director of Plant Operations— Steve takes great pride in his role as a Director of Plant Opertations at RiverView. His goal is to know all of the residents on a first name basis. Nobody is ever just a number or a stranger to him. His is an outdoorsman and a father of two boys, Leland, who is 7, and Sterling, who was born March 4, 2019. He grew up in Brevard County, met his wife at Melbourne High School, and he intends to raise his children here. He loves his Country, his family and this community.
Director of Environmental Services— Melinda is originally from Wisconsin and grew up with five brothers. She moved to Georgia in 1979 and began volunteering at a nursing home in 1997. It was then when she found her calling in serving residents with compassion and respect, and continues to this very day. Melinda enjoys fishing, camping, going to the beach and living in Florida.
Director of Sales & Marketing— Since moving to Brevard County in 1995, Janet has been an active member of the community. She has served in leadership positions with the Florida Wildlife Hospital, Gemini and Westshore PTOs, Friends of the Melbourne Beach Library and Daily Bread, Inc.
Her experience includes development, non-profit and event management as well as program management. Before joining RiverView Senior Resort, Janet served as director of a caregiver support program for 6 years, providing services to seniors and their family caregivers.
Janet holds a BS in Business Administration from Old Dominion University in Norfolk Virginia.
In her free time Janet enjoys spending time with her family and rescue animals, Fiona and Max.
Dawn Murphy Redstone
Director of Sales & Marketing— Dawn attended the University of South Florida and brings with her over ten years of law enforcement experience across Georgia and Florida. Dawn served both in road patrol and as a detective specializing in crimes against persons both young and old. She began her healthcare career working in psychiatry as a Marketing Director at Indian River Medical Center and went on to provide consultative services nationally to a number of Medical Centers in their psychiatric services area. She spent seven years as a Patient Relations and HIPPA compliance officer for a local hospital. Her passion for helping seniors and their families more closely called her to change from a more corporate role to spending the next six years working in Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing Facility sales and marketing. She went on to serve as a family advocate with Soter Senior Living & Family Advocates, assisting families and seniors locate appropriate senior living community that matches their needs and lifestyle. Having worked with Riverview through her experience with Soter, she is very happy to have joined the RiverView professional team.
Director of Culinary Services— Gilberto has been in the culinary services field for more than 30 years and has spent the last eight working specifically in the assisted living food services arena. He has a passion for what he does and thoroughly enjoys preparing delicious delicacies for the residents at RiverView.
