Director of Life Enrichment
Cecilia Sperry has been planning, overseeing, and carrying out activities of varying types for over 10 years. Her passion for activities, recreation, and event planning began when she started a job as a girls camp director. Over 300 young women between the ages of 12-16 attended this camp each year, and Cecilia managed the entire project and the 30+ counselors who also served with her. Food, crafts, music, service & recreational activities were all part of the package.
After receiving an education in the arts, Cecilia pursued another passion of hers: caregiving. She worked as a caregiver for many families all over northern Virginia. In 2010 she accepted a permanent position with the Wine Shop At Home Executive, Diane Sautman. She was quickly promoted to Executive Assistant and put in charge of all event planning, vendor coordinating, and creative consulting. This experience further honed her skills as an organized and capable manager.
In recent years Cecilia has focused her talents on senior care, working first as an activities assistant and then quickly getting promoted to director in an ALF. She plans to bring all she has learned, and then some, to Riverview, and is excited to put her skills to the test while building a truly exceptional activities program.
